Meet the Doctoral Programs Team

Bryan A. Booth, Vice Dean, The Graduate School
 
Dr. Booth earned his PhD from Cornell University (Industrial & Labor Relations School) and a leadership certificate from Harvard Graduate School of Education, Institute for Management and Leadership in Education (June 2008). He has over 20 years of higher education teaching experience in various subjects: organizational behavior, leadership and change, international and cross- cultural management, and labor relations to name a few. He is an active member of the Academy of Management in the Management Education and Development Division. He is active with the World Trade Center Institute in Baltimore as a UMUC representative to WTCI. Dr. Booth's research and application interests are in team development (especially among faculty), emergent leadership and practitioner-scholar doctoral education. His anthropology training (both in qualitative methodology and intellectual focus) brings a strong culturally oriented focus to his management experiences
Leslie Dinauer, Professor & Program Chair, Doctor of Management Program
 
Since 2009, Dr. Dinauer has managed the Research Methods courses in the DM Program.  She is also engaged in several lines of active research, including best practices in online education, investigation of statistical anxiety in the online environment, role of research methods in the professional doctorate, and cognitive processes of attitude formation and change, particularly within the context of consumer behavior.  She is a member of Sigma Xi-The Scientific Research Society, the Academy of Management & the American Statistical Association, with whom she joined on a delegation to Havana, Cuba to foment professional collaboration between statisticians and researchers in the two countries. Other professional activities internationally include teaching assignments in Taipei and Jakarta as well as regular participation in and service to the European Conference on Research Methodology for Business & Management Studies.  Prior to DM, Dr. Dinauer was on faculty and then the Program Director for the Marketing Track in the MS in Management at UMUC.  She was also founder & CEO of Envisage Consulting, providing research and evaluation services to clients throughout D.C. area.
Marina Caminis, Academic Specialist
 
Marina Caminis is an Academic Specialist for Doctoral Programs since May 2010. She is an alumna of Bucknell University and has been working in the higher education industry for over seven years. Prior to her positions at Johns Hopkins University and UMUC, she was an international logistics specialist and had the opportunity to travel on business to both Asia and Australia. Marina previously served as the Community Manager for the Evidence Based Manager Blog (www.evidence-blog.com), an online community hosted by the Center for Evidence Based Research, which promotes engagement between scholars and practitioners in the field of management. She enjoys traveling both stateside and overseas, painting, and swimming with a US Masters group. Marina can be reached at marina.caminis@umuc.edu
Monica Graham, Academic Specialist
 
Monica Graham is an Academic Specialist for Doctoral Programs since March 2005. Monica is an alumna of The Catholic University of America and has ten years of experience in the higher education industry. Prior to working at UMUC, she served as a Project Coordinator for SAFE KIDS World Wide, a division of Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) dedicated to preventing childhood injuries around the world. Monica serves on the ASAC (Adelphi Staff Advisory Council) Committee and plays a significant role in events such as Bring your Son’s & Daughter’s to Work Day and Toys for Tots. Michelle Howard, Executive Administrative Assistant
 
Michelle Howard is the executive administrative assistant for Doctoral Programs since September 2012. Michelle has an Undergraduate Certificate in Accounting, an Associate in Arts degree in Accounting, a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and coursework toward a Master of Business Administration degree. She has worked in the higher education industry for over 13 years. Michelle has participated in various volunteer activities including teaching Basic Sewing while she studied Women’s Fashion Design in the mid-1990s. She is an active member of the SPRC Committee of her church and oversees their Safe Sanctuary Policy and Procedures. Michelle can be reached at michelle.howard@umuc.edu.
