Anne Davis, DM'13
Dr. Anne Powel Davis ’13 is the 2014 recipient of the Sir Geoffrey Vickers Memorial Award for her dissertation. Dr. Davis developed an extensive journal quality paper (JQP) from her dissertation research on systems thinking in higher education and submitted it to the 59th World Conference of the International Society for the Systems Sciences (ISSS). Dr. Davis presented her work at the international conference held in Washington, DC July 27-August 2, 2014. Dr. Davis was subsequently selected as the winner of the prestigious Sir Geoffrey Vickers Memorial Award which recognizes promising student contributions to systems approaches in the social sciences, humanities and the arts. At the conference's closing banquet, Dr. Davis was humbled to receive the award and plaque from Dr. Gerald Midgley, one of the top systems scientists and organizational theorists in the world, the outgoing president of ISSS, as well as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Dr. Davis' dissertation. She is currently the Associate Dean (Teacher Education) for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at Stevenson University. Dr. Davis can be reached at annepoweldavis@gmail.com
